Histogram Window

The Histogram window provides a histogram of the currently displayed data. For example, if Tac values are currently being displayed, the histogram plots these values for all displayed hits. The horizontal histogram scale maps directly into the colors of the hits in other windows.

Histogram Scales

The histogram scales can be changed by clicking and dragging with the mouse. You can change either scale individually by clicking and dragging on it, or both scales simultaneously by clicking and dragging in the plot area of the window. Dragging a scale which has an origin of zero causes it to expand or contract. If the scale doesn't have a zero origin, or if you click within 8 pixels of the origin, dragging the scale will cause it to slide. Alternatively, you can use the right mouse button to slide the scale.

A quick click on either scale will bring up the Histogram Scales window, allowing the X and Y scale limits to be entered using the keyboard. This feature is common to all XSNOED histogram windows. There is also a checkbox which allows the Y scale to be displayed in logarithmic form. Note that some histograms will ignore the entered value for the Y scale minimum since it can be fixed to zero.

Normally, the histogram Y scale is automatically adjusted according to the maximum bin value, and the X scale is automatically set for some data types. Once the X or Y scales have been changed manually, this auto-scaling is disabled. A quick click in the plot area of the histogram restores the default auto-scaling behaviour.
